Joceline

Joceline is a cute little sleeveless vest, worked in a textured stitch called Dimple stitch.

Sleeveless vests are having a bit of a ‘moment’ fashion-wise, and are a great way to transition from summer to winter – adding warmth without the heaviness of a full piece of knitwear.

They are also a great way for knitwear designers to use interesting or unusual stitches and patterns – without having to worry about shaping armholes and sleeves!

I like the look of this stitch – it had a good 3D effect –  but have only ever used it for cushion covers before, as it isn’t easy to shape. The ‘Dimple’ effect is built up over a few rows, which then needs a final row to complete the stitch – so any shaping has to be carefully planned!

The stitch actually looks good on both sides, and adding stripes of colour gives further interest.

The top is knitted using King Cole’s new KC Collection – a wool and cashmere mix 4ply, which feels beautifully soft and luxurious.
