Lace Vest

Lace Vest

Although the Butterfly Dress is very popular, not everyone wants to wear a lace dress! So I’ve designed a short vest version that could be worn with a pretty skirt or even over jeans. Instead of adding the beads over the garment – as on the dress – I’ve made a beaded neck finishing (both versions are described in the Summer Lace Collection booklet – so you can decide which you prefer!)

The vest uses the same simple lace pattern as the Butterfly Dress and the instructions are given in written form or a chart.

Yarn: The Lace Vest is knitted in Rowan Kidsilk Haze and I’ve used small 3mm glass seed beads.

Sizes & yarn quantities: The pattern takes 1(2) x 25g ball Rowan Kidsilk Haze for sizes 32(34-40) ins bust.

Tension: 17sts and 24 rows to 4″ (10cms)  measured over lace pattern using 5mm (US8) needles.

Needles etc: Pair each of  4mm (US 6), 4.5mm (US 7) and 5mm (US 8) needles and 2 x 4mm (US 6) short double-ended needles for straps.
